GEO HEARTS OF TWO - 3 PART CHOCOLATE MOLD

A chocolate heart mold is the perfect way to show your loved ones how much you care this Valentine's Day. But if you've never used one before, the process can seem a bit daunting. Never fear! This blog post will walk you through everything you need to know to use a heart chocolate mold, from melting the chocolate to filling the mold to popping out the finished product.

Temper the Chocolate

We've gone over how to temper chocolate before, but for a quick summary here's how you do it:

You can do this in a double boiler or in the microwave. If you're using a double boiler, simply fill the bottom pot with water and set it over medium heat. Put the chocolate in the top pot and stir frequently until it's melted. If you're using the microwave, put the chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl and heat it in 30-second increments, stirring in between each increment, until it's melted.

Filling the Mold

Once the chocolate is melted, it's time to fill the mold. There are many heart molds to choose from, but the process is mostly the same for all of them. First, wipe off any condensation from the inside of the mold with a dry cloth. Then, pour the chocolate into the mold, filling each mold about three-quarters of the way full. Gently tap the mold on the counter to help release any air bubbles.

Popping Out the Chocolate Hearts

Now for the moment of truth! Place the mold in the refrigerator for about 15 minutes, or until the chocolate is firm. Then, gently twist each cavity to release the chocolate hearts. If they don't come out easily, place the mold back in the fridge for a few more minutes before trying again. And that's it! You should now have a tray full of perfect chocolate hearts, ready to give to your loved ones (or eat yourself—we won't judge!).
